氢富水被宣传为简便的抗氧化方案，但在一项针对慢性高原病患者的随机、双盲试验中出现了相反的信号。8 周每日摄入 990 mL 氢水后，氢水组的氧化损伤标志 MDA 较安慰剂组升高了 2.11（p<0.001），而总抗氧化能力亦上升。BMI≥24 的受试者中 MDA 升幅更为明显。氢水组不良事件更常见（50% 对 37%），以头晕居多。由于样本量小且仅限高海拔患者，结果的推广需谨慎。
