PB125: Het kruiden‑Nrf2‑mengsel dat arteriële functie behoudt tijdens immobilisatie

Een botanische Nrf2‑activator, PB125, bestaande uit rozemarijn, ashwagandha en luteoline, is in een klein dubbelblind onderzoek bij 24 ouderen getest. Een dagdosis van 200 mg verhoogde de brachiale FMD van 2,8 % naar 3,8 % en de popliteale FMD van 1,5 % naar 2,3 % na twee weken. Tijdens vijf dagen bedrust bleef de arteriële functie en het antioxidanten‑niveau behouden ten opzichte van placebo. Bij jongvolwassenen was er geen initiële FMD‑toename, maar PB125 bood wel bescherming tijdens immobilisatie. De resultaten zijn voorlopig en moeten nog bevestigd worden in grotere studies.
