NMN vs NR vs NADH: One Lifted Endurance, None Fixed Fatigue
A new network meta-analysis of 27 studies and 1,599 adults compared NMN, NR, NADH and nicotinamide, and the results are not what supplement marketing promises. NMN showed a dose-dependent boost in endurance, with a standardized mean difference of 1.02 at the high dose. NADH led for cognition, but mostly in cognitively impaired groups and with a result sensitive to influential studies. The surprise is that no precursor significantly improved perceived fatigue or sleep. Here is how the ranking breaks down, what the limits are, and who should or shouldn't bother.
3 Grams of This Sweet Amino Acid Blunted Sleep-Loss Fatigue
Sleep-deprived and dragging? A cheap, mildly sweet amino acid may take the edge off the next day, at least in a small trial. In a study from Ajinomoto researchers, healthy volunteers who had their sleep cut by a quarter for three nights in a row took 3 grams of glycine before bed. They reported significantly less fatigue the next day, and they did better on a reaction-time test.
