#reishi

1 article
Approach: macro science. Palette: warm (amber and copper).

Extreme close-up photograph of a freshly cut lion's mane mushroom fruiting body beside a sliced reishi conk. The lion's mane shows cascading cream-white spines that catch the light as fine, translucent strands. Beside it, the reishi's glossy, lacquered cap shows concentric bands of mahogany red and burnt orange, with a pale golden pore surface along its edge. Shot at a low 30-degree angle with a macro lens and shallow depth of field. The foreground spines are razor sharp and the reishi melts into a soft amber blur behind them. Warm, low golden-hour side light rakes across the textures and throws copper shadows. The backdrop is a smooth gradient of deep honey and burnt sienna. A tiny electric green moss sprig sits at the base of the frame as the only cool accent. The mood is calm, tactile and quietly curious, with no text anywhere.

Lion's Mane vs. Lion's Mane + Reishi: The Blend Won on Anxiety

BY NOVA CHEN ·

Lion's mane is everywhere, but would adding Reishi make it work better for anxiety? A randomised, double-blind trial in 84 young women found the blend beat Lion's mane alone on the main anxiety measure, GAD-7, by Day 28. The twist: everyone improved, even on placebo, and secondary stress and anxiety results faded to trend-level after FDR correction. Here is what the study actually shows, what it doesn't, and who should think twice.
