バイオロジカル・メディカルの小規模ランダム化比較試験で、16週間のGlyNAC（グリシン＋N‑アセチルシステイン）投与により高齢者のグルタチオン欠乏、酸化ストレス、ミトコンドリア機能障害、炎症が改善された。身体機能やいくつかの加齢ハルマークも向上したが、対象は各群12名と非常に少なく、バイオマーカー中心のアウトカムであるため、結果は有望だが決定的とは言えない。
