Retatrutide je známý hlavně pro hubnutí, ale nová post‑hoc analýza dvou fází‑2 studií se zaměřila na změny v krvi. Velké triglyceridové lipoproteinové částice klesly až o 84,4 % u dospělých s diabetem 2. typu a o 76,6 % u dospělých bez diabetu. ApoB se snížil o 21‑24 %, v ne‑diabetické studii klesl hsCRP o 54,8 % a IL‑6 o 29,6 %, ale v diabetické studii tyto změny nebyly statisticky významné. Jedná se o neschválený lék na předpis, ne doplněk, a jde jen o biomarkery, ne o prokázaný pokles srdečních infarktů.
