Drusenové usazeniny jsou raným varovným signálem věkem podmíněné makulární degenerace (AMD) a obvykle v průběhu let rostou. Ve 24‑měsíčním lidském testu kombinace resveratrolu, quercetinu a kurkuminu vedla k 13,4 % poklesu objemu centrálních drusen, zatímco samotný kurkumin způsobil 6,9 % nárůst. Studie byla otevřená, měla jen 38 účastníků a neobsahovala placebovou skupinu. Rozdíl ve vizuální ostrosti (P = 0,08) nebyl statisticky významný a AREDS2 zůstává osvědčeným standardem suplementace.
